Russian Navy receives new frigate

The Russian Navy has received a new frigate for its Black Sea Fleet.
Admiral Makarov, which was launched in September 2015 and started trials in October 2016, was handed over to the navy on December 25 and is to be commissioned into service on December 27.
The frigates, with a speed of up to 30 knots and manned by a staff of 180 sailors each, will be deployed to counter ships, submarines and airborne targets.
The Black Sea Fleet operates in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
