ROK Navy receives first naval training boat

The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) has received its first training vessel from shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction (HHIC).

HHIC began construction of the new training boat in July 2015. The multipurpose training boat (MTB) has an overall beam of 15 m, and a displacement of 230 tonnes and it is capable of supporting anti-submarine warfare (ASW) training, anti-surface and anti-air missile drills.

The vessel is expected to enter service this month following a two-week familiarisation period.
