Boeing receives the first international KC-46 order

Boeing signed a $279 million contract to supply the Japan Air Self-Defense Force with its first KC-46 tanker and the necessary logistics support and consequently it made its first international sale of a KC-46 tanker.

The KC-46 is a multirole tanker designed to refuel all allied and coalition military aircraft compatible with international aerial refueling procedures and can carry passengers, cargo and patients. The aircraft can detect, avoid, defeat and survive threats using multiple layers of protection, which will enable it to operate safely in medium-threat environments.
