HMS Bangor Returns Home After Three Years

Royal Navy’s minehunter HMS Bangor has returned to HM Naval Base Clyde.

HMS Bangor has been working to help protect shipping lanes in the Gulf.

HMS Bangor is one of seven Royal Navy mine counter measures vessels (MCMVs) operated by the Faslane-based First Mine Counter Measures Squadron (MCM1).

the ship and crew took part in exercises as part of a Combined Task Group, working with US, French and Omani navies to test their capabilities and ability to work as a team.

En route home, the ship has transited through the South West Monsoon and has navigated through the Suez Canal and the Bab El Mendab Strait.
