IAF receives first AH-64E attack helicopters

India has received the first four AH-64E Apache multi-role combat helicopters.
The four of 22 Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters were transported on board an Antonov An-124 transport aircraft and arrived at Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad on 27 July.
Boeing said the first batch of the Apaches arrived in India and an additional four choppers will be delivered to the IAF next week.
“The eight choppers will then move to the Pathankot Air Force station for their formal induction by the IAF, in September,” it said.
The AH-64E attack helicopter, also known as Apache Guardian, is the latest version of the AH-64, used by the US Army. The AH-64E Apache features enhanced performance, joint digital operability, improved survivability and cognitive decision aiding.
